|
Background After viewing this DVD and practising with the audio CD several times, Sound Engineers should be able to walk into a room and hear any problem frequencies with the PA, room acoustics, any instrument or voice. In part 1 of the DVD, Andrew will teach you how to recognise the various groups of frequencies found on a 31-band graphic equaliser, using CD tracks to demonstrate frequency changes. In part 2, he will show you how to set up a graphic EQ in a room using the sound of your voice to shape the sound correctly. In part 3, Andrew demonstrates how to shape each individual instrument and voice in a mixer, and how they should sound individually, and together. Using a previously captured live recording of a live band performing, Andrew also teaches the sound engineer how to identify the potential problem frequencies of each voice and instrument. In part 4, he teaches and demonstrates how to properly use compression, reverb and delay. The additional training CD is designed as a practice tool with drill set ‘hearing exercises’ as an ongoing development device for the Sound Engineer. |
